For five years Parnassia Mental Health Care in the Hague has ‘the clinic for people with Confused Behavior’ (In dutch: OVP). Last year 1,552 people were brought there.
Gz psychologist Philip Veerman reflects on this provision. The OVP has found shelter in The Hague police headquarters. Van der Hoeven (Psychiater and manager Health Care with OVP): “The OVP is actually an assessment location, because our approach is to be able to quickly assess whether people need care. The idea is that through the police also bring people to the OVP that we previously did not see as a crisis service.
