‘How do you narrow the gap between young people and politicians?’

New results of an annual survey of the views of young people in secondary education
about the democratic rule of law appeared in February. Those interested can
take note of this via www.adks.nl. The investigation showed that confidence of young people in politicians has declined.

Researcher Paula Thijs told me that there are large differences in school levels: 71 percent of the pupils in pre university education thought it important that we live in a democracy, compared to 34 percent of young people from pre vocational education. More education about core values of democracy I therefore find no unnecessary luxury.
