Werd het een paar jaar geleden vooral gebruikt in ziekenhuizen en bij de tandarts als roesmiddel tegen de pijn, nu wordt het volop gebruikt als recreatief roesmiddel.<br \/>\nVaak raken gebruikers een korte tijd in een trance en soms even buiten bewustzijn.
